Exploring different pubs and tasting various beers is always a thrilling experience, but sometimes unexpected incidents can occur. Unfortunately, that was the case during my ale trail adventure today.

My first stop was The Bell in Waltham St Lawrence, a charming pub with a great selection of ales and a cozy atmosphere. I enjoyed a pint DB Number One by Dorking Brewery, a classic British pale ale that was crisp and refreshing, with a hint of citrus.

After that, I made my way to The Waggon and Horses in Twyford, a lively pub with a great beer garden and a friendly vibe. I decided to try a pint of Reliance Pale Ale by Brixton Brewery, which had a bold and hoppy flavor with a nice balance of bitterness and sweetness.

However, my ale trail was cut short on the way to the third pub, when I slipped and fell into a patch of barbed wire.

It was a painful experience, and I knew I needed medical attention. After getting hope and cleaning off all the mud, I gave NHS 111 a ring who advised me to head to A&E. Subsequently they checked me over and I ended up getting a Tetanus shot.

Although my ale trail didn’t end as I had hoped, it’s important to remember that accidents can happen at any time. I was lucky that my injuries weren’t more serious, and I’m grateful for the quick and professional care I received at the hospital.

The experience was a reminder to always be careful and aware of your surroundings, especially when enjoying a few pints. As much as we love trying new beers and exploring new pubs, it’s important to prioritize our safety and well-being above all else.

So, if you’re planning an ale trail or a pub crawl, be sure to take the necessary precautions and always stay alert. Don’t let a minor accident ruin what should be a fun and enjoyable experience. Cheers to responsible drinking and safe travels!
